While serving with the 91st Powder River Division in Italy during World War II, he was awarded the Combat Infantryman's Badge and the Bronze Star, among others. He operated a mink ranch during the '50s and '60s. He later worked for Finch Pruyn and Co. of Glens Falls, retiring in 1984.
Don was an avid reader and writer and loved baseball with his favorite team being the Detroit Tigers. He also loved fishing, oil painting, gardening, spending winters in Florida and creation in general. He past from time to eternity.
