The only known dau. of Allen M. Barker and Susan Frances Jones, latter who m. Jan. 1, 1871 at Morgan County, KY [pub. recs.] It is claimed that Margaret was b. at Mount Sterling, KY (county seat of Montgomery), albeit her parents married at Morgan County. Less than eight months after Margaret's birth the family was residing at Morgan County in the June 1880 federal census, two counties east from Mount Sterling.
