Margaret "Peggy" Louise Leinbaugh Bicket of Shell Point Retirement Community, Fort Myers, Florida, formerly of Naples, Florida, died the evening of May 15, 2007, after a dignified and courageous battle with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (Lou Gehrig's disease). Margaret Bicket was born November 25, 1925, in Mendon, Illinois, to Howard and Marion Leinbaugh. The youngest of three children, she was preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Dorothy Leinbaugh and Harold "Bud" Parr Leinbaugh. Peggy attended the University of Illinois where she was a member of Alpha Gamma Delta. In 1944 she married her high school sweetheart, Robert Lee Jones, a lieutenant in the United States Army Air Corps. The couple traveled extensively during Col. Jones military career. They eventually settled in McLean, Virginia, upon his retirement. After her husbands death Peggy, an astute businesswoman, launched her very special lady's boutique, The Top Drawer, McLean, Virginia. She later married her beloved Lt. Cmdr. James Lampe, U.S. Navy (retired). Following Cmdr. Lampe's death she relocated to Pinehurst, North Carolina. There she owned another highly successful fashion boutique, Peggy Jones, Ltd. And married Peter M. Bicket. Mr. and Mrs. Bicket were members of the Country Club of North Carolina in Pinehurst. The Bickets retired to Naples, Florida, where Mr. Bicket preceded her in death. Mrs. Bicket was extremely active in the Naples Philharmonic, Naples Yacht Club, Naples Pan-Hellenic Union, La Playa Beach Club, and Vanderbilt Presbyterian Church. Peggy was a passionate bridge player and avid traveler. She enjoyed reading, walking the beach, and shopping for antiques. Ms. Bicket moved to Lakewood Court at Shell Point in August, 2006, where she enjoyed the camaraderie and friendship of many caring neighbors. Peggy was a strong role model and devoted mother and grandmother. She is survived by her daughter Mrs. David(Judith Jones) Moore of Shell Point Retirement Community, Fort Myers, and her granddaughter Mrs. Dale(Amy Parr Jones)Urban, Esq., Atlanta, Georgia. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Mrs. Raymond(Charlotte Jones)Fayhee of Bushnell, Illinois, and a niece, Ms Terry Cralle of Charlottesville, Virginia. Her family and friends will remember her as a charming, vivacious, intelligent and multi-talented lady. She died peacefully under the outstanding and compassionate care of Hope Hospice of Fort Myers, surrounded by her loving family and lifelong friends Harley and Millie Grimm of Salado, Texas. A memorial service and private interment will be held in Lewistown, Illinois, at a later date.
