John was born abt 1860 or 1861 probably in Silveyville or Vacaville township, Solano Co., CA

John Franklin Myers had blond hair with red cast.

John was involved in a wreck with the Butte County Railroad. In book by Kent Stephens titled "Matches, Flumes and Rails" the wreck was noted as being the worst for the Butte Co., Railroad. Mr. Myers was listed in his book as being crippled for the rest of his life from injuries received in the wreck.
The wreck was on the first page of newspaper "Chico Record," June 26, 1909

In the magazine titled "Tales of the Paradise Ridge" by the Paradise, Butte Co., CA Historical Society, there is a large write up about the "The 1909 Paradise Train Wreck". In this article John Franklin is mentioned along with a very good 4x5 picture.

Services for J. F. Myers Will Be Conducted Today

John Franklin Myers, aged 62 years, died at his home, 4619 Ninth Street, early yesterday, a native of California, had made his home in this city for a number of years.
Surviving are his four children, Albert L. Myers, Anna Letta Myers, Lottie May Myers, and James Edward Myers all of Chico; two sisters, Mrs. Annie E. Spurgeon and Mrs. Mary Roper, both of Chico, and a brother James M. Myers, of Paradise. Five grandchildren also survive.
The funeral services will be held at two o'clock this afternoon at the Westfall parlors. Burial will be made in the Chico cemetery.
Buried in the Chico Cemetery in the same place as Annie (his sister) or John Spurgeon. John Franklin does not have a marker.
