"Uncle Dick Freeman, one of the oldest, if not the oldest citizen of Macon County died at his home on Long Creek Sunday, June 10th. His death was largely due to the infirmities of old age. During the last month of his life he took practically no nourishment. He was 93 years old and was the father of fifteen children, nine of whom survive him. He was the grandfather of J.S. Freeman of Westmoreland.

Not listed are the rest of the children of Richard Freeman and Martha Elizabeth Driver-Freeman. Cpl Jesse Smith Freeman, killed during the civil. Mary E., Michael Booker Freeman and William Hunley "Buck" Freeman, Enoch's twin brother Elijah, Dr. Joseph "Joel" Yancy Freeman, and Lewis Whitson "Pony" Freeman.
