Rev. George Keller was a United Bretheren Minister who served churches in Illinois, Indiana, Missouri and Kansas throughout his long career. He also served as a Postmaster and Chaplain in the Union Army during the Civil War, and helped found Westfield College. He was the second son of Henry II and Rebecca (Muck) Keller.

He was first married to Mary Null on 18 February 1856 in McDonough County, Illinois. Mary died after just five weeks of marriage and no children.

On 18 March 1858 he married Mary Caroline Barbre in Sangamon County. They were married nearly 62 years, and were parents of 8 children: John Lawrence, Samuel Harvey, Emma Asenath, Eliza Ozeta, Anna Tessoria, William Edward, Franklin Robinson, and James Walton Keller. Three of those children, Ozeta, Walt, and Tessie died before their parents. Tessie and her husband Joseph Martin are buried on the same lot with her parents in this cemetery.
