He was the husband of Auderna (Volpini) Campano.
Born in Bellingham, Mass. son of the late Louis and Theresa ( Miozza ) Campano.
Mr. and Mrs Campano celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary, on Oct. 6, 2007.
Mr. Campano worked as a mechanic for Wood Ave. Motor Sales for 27 years, and also for Staffold Manufacturing in Cranston and for CVS in the maintenance department for 7 years prior to retiring, He was also owner and operator of Joe's Automotive Repair in Woonsocket.
He was and Army Veteran of WWII, and served in the Infantry front line and was wounded three time at Cassino, and obtained the Purple Heart.
He was a member of the Italian Workingmen's Club.
Mr. Campano enjoyed working in his garden.
Besides his wife he is survived by one son Ronald J. Campano of Bellingham. One daughter Theresa Campbell, of Woonsocket, Two brothers John Campano of Providence and Louis Campano Jr. of Bellingham.
Three sisters Philamena Campano, of Woonsocket, Angela Sibilla of Cranston, and Dorothy Savoie, of Woonsocket, Six grandchildren and one great-granddaughter, and also his faithfull companion Shiba.
A Funeral Home Service will be held Monday at 11 A.M. in the S. DiPardo Memorial Chapel Funeral Home, 1583 Diamond Hill Rd. Woonsocket.
Burial will be private.
