Earl's grandparents on his mother's side of the family were Francis Marion Medlen (1825-1901) and Mary Jane Brantley Hudson Medlen (1841-1898).
Per his mother's obituary, he, his parents, and siblings came to Lawton, Oklahoma around 1910 from Duncan, Oklahoma, where the family resided for many years.
Earl also has two stepsisters, Josephine and Katie Wilson, per his mother's first marriage to Frank Wilson; and, he has seven stepsiblings, Russ, Dick, Jesse, Martin, Clint, George, and Pearl Crook by his father's first marriage to Rachel Pryor.
Earl was married to Mabel F. Crook, born in 1912; died in 2009; and is buried next to Earl at Sunset Memorial Gardens.
Earl Crook, 71, died in February, 1982 in Portales, Roosevelt County, New Mexico. Funeral services were held and burial was in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Lawton, Comanche County, Oklahoma.
