MESA, Ariz. - Rhena Marie Olivier Barbier, 61, passed away March 11, 2007 in Chandler, Ariz.

She was born April 28, 1945 to Jerome and Amelia (Stelley) Olivier. A native of Arnaudville, La., she graduated from Arnaudville High School and then worked for Bell South in Lafayette, La. As an Air Force wife and mother, she lived in Enid, Okla.; Bossier County, La.; Limestone, Maine; Dayton, Ohio; and Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. She worked for MITRE Corporation in Saudi Arabia. She returned to Lafayette, La. to be near family and later moved to Chandler, Ariz. to be near her children and grandchildren. She was a loving wife and friend, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and mother-in-law. She was an example of faith and courage and to all that knew her while battling an extended illness.

She was predeceased by her parents.

Those surviving her are her husband, Kermit; son, Geoffrey (Jennifer) Barbier; daughter, Gwendolyn (Mark) Johnson; brothers, Boyd, Roger, Jerome and Vernon Olivier; sisters, Mavis Fruge, Vivian Aymond and Nancy Lemarie; and seven grandchildren.

Funeral services and entombment will be March 14, 2007 in Mesa, Ariz.

A memorial service celebrating her life will be conducted at 10 a.m. Monday, March 19, 2007, at St. John Francis Regis Catholic Church in Arnaudville, La.
