Richard Dandridge was a Firefighter with Denver Fire Department, he was assigned to Station Three. On March 23, 1895 he perished in a fire at the St. James Hotel. Brawley and three other members of Station three died in the fire when the floor they were on collapsed, they were Captain Harold Hartwell, Lieutenant Frederick S. Brawley and Firefighter Stephen Martin.
