Florence was born in Utica on September 19, 1913, the daughter of Alexander and Valeria Craska Murawski, who farmed on Luke Rd. in Marcy. As a farm girl, Florence was active in 4-H and was proud of the blue ribbons she won for her vegetables entered in the NYS Fair. After leaving the farm at age 16, she entered the world of work, and after marrying Edward in 1933, and at age 40, obtained her GED diploma and went on to receive her Practical Nursing license in 1956. She assisted the late Dr. Robert Brennan, well known Utica pediatrician, for many years. She and her late husband of 72 years, were devoted parents and loving grandparents and great-grandparents. Florence and Ed loved the out-of-doors and, as avid gardeners, raised a variety of vegetables, fruits, berries and flowers. A family saying was "Put on the kettle, I'm going up to pick the corn." A devout Christian, Florence was an active long time member of St. Peter's Church, serving on many committees.
