Ferdinand Louis "Freddie" Alvezi, passed away on Tuesday, June 2, 2015 at home due to complications of Parkinson's Disease. He was born in Sandwich, MA on December 10, 1926 to Ferdinand and Anna (Biraldi) Alvezi and lived in Sandwich all his life. He graduated from Sandwich High School in 1944. In his senior year of high school Freddie was drafted. He opted to join the Navy and served during World War II.
Freddie was hired as the first full time Fire Chief and served for the Town of Sandwich for 25 years. He was also a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his wife, Kay and three daughters, Sharon Alvezi, Carol Boucher and her husband John and Kathy Alvezi. He was also survived by a sister Margaret Richter, a grandson, Jack Boucher and many nieces and nephews.
Freddie enjoyed his family, fishing, music and clambakes in the summer.

His Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, June 6, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. in Corpus Christi Parish 324 Quaker Meeting House Road East Sandwich. Visitation Friday 4 – 8 p.m. at the Nickerson-Bourne Funeral Home 154 Route 6A Sandwich, MA. Interment in Sandwich Town Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial donations in his memory may be made to Sandwich Professional Firefighters P.O. Box 1251 Sandwich, MA 02563.
