There were a fair number of Knight's in the D.C. Census' etc the name Charles does appear to be seen but what looks like the middle name is more unreadable. Born & Died can be seen but not dates
The word Father does appear at the very bottom of the marker.
Based on another marker in this same section using similar stone and showing similar wear ''Brown'' family, and the range of dates on it, and the fact that there is a Georgetown resident with a young family in 1870 Census, I believe this to be of Charles D. Knight married to Sarah E.[Porter] Knight. Children listed are Robert E b aprx 1865, Edwin 1867, Fannie & Leo b 1869. Hope to confirm but believe he died in his 40's and his young wife. A D.C. death certificate for a Charles D. Knight listing Sarah E. [Porter] was found and a city directory lists his name in 1873. Appears to be an 1880 census listing these family members and may have evidence of Sarah's death on 10-26-1882 and certificate says ''married'' which seemingly means Charles outlived her. Possible both parents died around 1880 as Charles D. death certificate lists 2 other names along with Sarah's. may list Sarah only in an effort to link spouses and include other family members or connections.
