A funeral service for LaNora Charlene Hunt, 67, longtime Holly resident, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 14 at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly. Rev. Mike Lewis will officiate.

Burial will follow in the Syracuse Cemetery in Syracuse, Kan.

Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 13 and on Wednesday, Sept. 14 prior to the funeral service at Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel in Holly.

Hunt was born on March 14, 1938 at Coolidge, Kan. Hunt died on Friday, Sept. 9 at Memorial Hospital in Colorado Springs following a lengthy illness.

Hunt was preceded in death by her father, Everett Emery Hook of Las Animas; by one brother, Donald Hook of Syracuse, Kan.; by one sister, Roma Dorenkamp of Holly; and by one step-son, Kevin Jones of El Dorado, Kan.

Hunt is survived by her husband, Jack Hunt of Granada; by her four children, Buddy Dean Hook of Kingman, Kan., Claude LeRoy Hook of El Paso, Texas, Everett Bruce Jones of Holly and Cherie (Jon) Shaver of Larned, Kan.; by her mother, Opal Johnston of Syracuse, Kan.; by nine grandchildren, Adam, Aaron, Amy, Andrew, Aubin, Annie, Aric, Aubrey and Ali Hook, all of the Kingman, Kan. area; by one brother, Calvin (Margaret) Hook of Syracuse, Kan.; by five step-children, Keithetta Kline of New Mexico, Melinda Wilson of Liberal, Kan., Rita Denning of Lakin, Kan., Jennifer Coffee of Copperas Cove, Texas and Stacee Anderson of Towanda, Kan.; also surviving are three nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel of Holly is handling the arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Holly Volunteer Fire and Ambulance Fund, either directly or through Valley Memorial Funeral Chapel.
