Leo Arnold, the first secretary of the club and last member of the founding board of director has passed away. He was born in Chula Vista on December 9, 1910 and died on October 12, 1993 in National City.

After graduating from Sweetwater High School in 1928, he played semi-pro baseball at first base. His father, who was born in Switzerland and didn't understand baseball, never missed a game. He worked in the National City Postal Service for 30 years and was an accountant for a number of Swiss in San Diego and Imperial County for over 53 years, and was very active with the Lions Club and Boys and Girls Club of National City.

He and his wife, Mae, traveled over many parts of the world. They felt the best way to study geography and history was to experience it.

In addition to his widow, he is survived by a son Jim of Texas; three grandchildren' two nieces, Peggy Rollin of Chula Vista and Pat Beljean of Riverside; one nephew, Tony Arnold of Chula Vista.

Leo was laid to rest on October 15 at Holy Cross Mausoleum in San Diego, following a Funeral Mass at St. Mary's Catholic Church in National City.
