Lena van Os was born in April 1900 in the village of Zuilichem, located in the utter west of the Dutch central and east province Gelderland, probably the sixth of eight children of Johannes Dirk van Os (32 y, bread baker) and Jannigje Gersi. Source: scan of her birth certificate.

In January 1902 her sister Maaike Mari Cornelia Elisabeth van Os was born in Zuilichem. In May 1907 her sister Adriana van Os died in Zuilichem at the age of about 16 years.

On 17 December 1931 Lena van Os married in the municipality and seat of Everdingen, located in the extreme south of the Dutch central province Utrecht, at the age of 31 years the ten years older Andrew Seerp Anema, born in Orange City, northwest Iowa, USA, son of Jelle Annes Anema and Dirkje Johanna van Os.
Although Andrew's mother was a Van Os too, Lena van Os wasn't related to Andrew.

On 18 February 1936 Lena (35 y, born in Holland, Zuilichem), her husband Andrew S. Anema (45, Orange City), their son Joy A. (3, born 8 November 1932, Denver) and daughter Jannigje L. (1, 27 July 1935, Hilversum [province Utrecht]) returned on the S.S. Black Osprey from the Netherlands at the port of New York, Ellis Island. They resided then at 1845 Emerson Street in the neighborhood of Little Holland, South Denver, Colorado.

In April 1940 Lena (39, Holland), her husband Andrew S Anema (50, worker at a trunk factory), their children Jay A (7, Colorado), Lena (5, Holland [married Rowe]) and Andrew S [Joy] (3, Colorado) were living in a rented house at 1581 So Clarkson Street in the neighborhood of Little Holland in South Denver, Colorado. They lived in 1935 in the city of Hilversum, located in the center of the Netherlands, province Utrecht, where daughter Lena was born.
The trunk factory he worked at in 1940 would have been the Shwayder Brothers / Samsonite factory (before the 1960s it was called the Shwayder Trunk Manufacturing Company). At its peak, the company employed 4,000 people.

In November 1942 they were still living at 1581 So Clarkson Street in the Little Holland neighborhood in South Denver, Colorado.

Her husband Andrew S Anema died in July 1956 at the age of 66 years in Seattle, Washington, where his son Jay Andrew Anema was living with his family. Widow Lena died there too, in May 1998, at the age of 98 years.
It's quite likely that they were both buried in the same cemetery at Seattle as their son Jay did.
