Tjitske Sybes de Haan (the Cock, the Rooster) was born on 12 March 1781 and baptized in the Dutch Reformed Church (DRC) on 22 April 1781 in the country village Berlikum, in the Frisian language called Berlitsum, municipality Menaldumadeel, in the northwestern part of the Dutch northern province Friesland, daughter of Sybe Hendriks de Haan and Sytske Alles, who married mid 1768 in Sint Annaparochie, where Sybe Hendriks was born.

The family De Haan moved on 4 August 1803 to Sint Annaparochie, seat of the adjacent municipality De Bildt.

Tjitske Sybes married on 20 May 1804 in her residence place Sint Annaparochie at the age of 23 years to the five years older Klaas Jans who was residing in his birthplace Sint Annaparochie too.

Tjitske and Klaas had the following children in Sint Annaparochie, municipality Het Bildt, Friesland:
* Sijtske Klazes Leep, b. 7 March 1805, ~ 31 March 1805;
* Liskje Klazes Leep, b. 19 August 1809, ~ 10 September 1809;
* Jan Klazes Leep, b. 20 October 1812. He died in a hospital in the city of Delft, Zuid-Holland on 3 May 1833, serving as a rifleman (fuselier) in the Dutch National Army;
* Baukje Klazes Leep, b. 27 February 1815;
* Gooikje Klazes Leep, b. 26 March 1818;
* Alle Klazes Leep, b. 8 September 1820, d. 2 October 1826 Sint Annaparochie;
* Anne Klazes Leep, b. 13 September 1822, d. 13 February 1909, Sint Annaparochie

Workwoman Tjitske Sybes de Haan died in May 1826 in Sint Annaparochie, house nr. 239 at the age of 43 years. Her widower Klaas Jans Leep died in August 1826 in Sint Annaparochie too, house nr. 237, at the age of 50 years. Their orphant son Alle Klazes Leep died there in house nr. 276 on 2 October 1826 at the age of 6 years. Did they die of a contageous disease like malaria, typhus or cholera that broke out after the great storm flood on 3-5 February 1825 in Overijssel, Groningen and Friesland?
