Mrs. May M. Guffy, 91, 552 N. Lime, died late Wednesday, Nov. 27, at a Topeka nursing home. She was born June 19, 1894, in South Dakota, the daughter of John and Elnora Miller Petitt. She lived in Topeka most of her life.

Mrs. Guffy was a member of North Topeka Baptist Church 60 years. She was married to John W. Guffey Nov. 17, 1937, in Kansas City, MO. He survives. A son, Byron E. Hohberg, died Jan. 4, 1984.

Other survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Juanita Kaberline, 224 E. Lyman Road; as stepdaughter, Mrs. Juanita King, Independence, MO; a stepson, Glen Guffey, 3624 Lower Silver Lake Road; a sister, Mrs. Rose Johnson, 1823 N. Tyler; nine grandchildren; and 15
great-grandchildren.

Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Davidson Funeral Home. Burial will be in Rochester Cemetery. Mrs. Guffey will lie in state after 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home where relatives and friends will meet from 7 to 8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to North Topeka Baptist Church, 123 W. Gordon, 66608.
