Gladys and Dick Davis were friends of Ray & Janice Daughenbaugh in Iowa, Marshall County, Marshalltown. Dick went to HS with Ray. They both rode bicycles to school although Dick had a car. Gladys and Dick were married 11-27-1946, two years before Ray & Janice (8-1-1948).

Dick had a model-A Ford and lived on Doty(Doddie) St. Marshalltown. Gladys was a farmer's daughter in Green Mountain, Iowa.

4 daughters survived.Gladys was born on February 18, 1927 in Gilman, Iowa, the daughter of Albert and Virgil (Bales) Gunderson. She graduated from Albion High School in 1945. Gladys was united in marriage with Richard "Dick" Davis on November 29, 1946 in Leavenworth, Kansas. Gladys was a professional wife, professional mother and a professional homemaker. Gladys enjoyed playing cards and games, she enjoyed having coffee with her friends and loved to tease people. She was an avid fan of the Iowa Hawkeye's and of Women's Basketball. Gladys was also a member of the Center Street Baptist Church.

Gladys is survived by her four daughters: Carolyn (Richard) Carlson of Loveland, Colorado, Pat (Jerry) Waltemeyer of State Center; Becky (James) Taylor of Roland, Iowa, Jolene (Garry) Kepler of Tama; eight grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, her two sisters: Maxine Kehoe and Maxile (Robert) Burns both of Marshalltown, her brother: Arlan (Delores) Gunderson of Union.

She was preceded in death by: her loving husband in 1998, her parents, two sisters: Irene Weuve and Helen Baily, her two brothers: Ivan and Justin Gunderson.
