Wayne Albert Jones, 68, of Atchison, KS, passed away peacefully Saturday, October 6, 2012 at his home, with his family by his side.
The family will greet friends from 7:00-8:30 PM, Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Becker-Dyer-Stanton Funeral Home. Mr. Jones has been cremated and private burial of cremains will take place at a later date at the Sumner Cemetery south of Atchison. Memorial contributions in honor of Mr. Jones are suggested to the St. Jude's Hospice and may be sent in care of the funeral home. Wayne was born April 30, 1944 in Atchison the son of Harry Lee and Zona Francis (Winchell) Jones. Wayne had worked as a Supervisor in the Gluten Department at Mid-West Grain Products. He was employed there over 30 years. He also owned and operated JT's Auto Salvage and the South Town Bait Shop. Wayne liked gong to the casino, working on cars and his Weimaraner, Buddy. He especially enjoyed spending time with his family.
Wayne married Kathryn ‘Kathy' Wells on August 1, 1964 in Atchison. Kathy survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Jay (Sidwell) Jones, Atchison, KS; two daughters, Lori Jones, Effingham, KS and Ginger Jones, Morris IL; four brothers, Donald Jones, Kansas City, KS; Norman Jones, Atchison, KS; Henry Jones, Arkansas; Robert Jones, Farmington, KS; three sisters, Ethel Miller, Huron, KS; Opal Reynolds, Morrill, KS; Anna Holmberg, Osceola, MO; 9 grandchildren, Elizabeth Ford, Rebecca Jones, Tobin Ford, Marcus Jones, Nathan Jones, Matthew Oswalt, Tyler Mroczek, Ryan McNames and Sarah McNames and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents and three brothers, Harry, Herbert and Sonny Jones.
