Utah - Letha Jane Lewis Barker, 60, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her family on March 18, 2006 in Kaysville, Utah. She was born March 11, 1946, in Gallup, New Mexico to Thomas Halver and Varis Lurene Gillespie Lewis. She married Monte G. Barker June 12, 1985 in Ramah, NM.
Letha was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held various callings including Seminary Teacher, Relief Society and Young Women's President. She lived a life full of service, and was always concerned about others before herself. She loved the Lord and put Him first in her life. She also loved children and her family very much.
Survived by her husband, Monte of Kaysville, Utah; Pamela (Rendol) Gibbons, Kaysville, Utah; Monica (Alfredo) Flores, Flagstaff, AZ.; Marsha (Lee) Dutson, Kaysville, UT.; Jason (Deborah) Barker, St. Johns, AZ.; Joseph (Kamille) Barker, Sandy, UT.; Kenneth Gregory and Samuel Reid Barker, both of Kaysville, UT.; 19 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; her mother, Varis, Ramah, NM.; brothers and sisters, Beth (Perry) Merrill, Gallup, NM.; Larry Lewis, Ramah, NM.; Penny (Paul) Roper, Orem, UT.; Elaine (Dennis) Simons, Ramah, NM.; Ellen (Dale) Rosquist, Levan, UT.; Elvin Lewis, Ramah, NM. She was preceded in death by her father, and sister-in-law, Pat Lewis.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at 11:00 AM in the Kaysville, Utah 15th LDS Ward, 555 N. 100 E. where family and friends may call from 9 – 10:45 AM prior to services. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery under the direction of Myers Mortuary, Layton, Utah.
