Clarence Devan Tolman, 79, passed away Tuesday, August 19, 2003 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born October 19, 1923 in Oakley Cassia Idaho, son of Parley Lambert and Vilate Tolman.
He married Mary Madeline Gingell on July 29, 1949 in the Logan Temple.
Clarence had been a farmer, dairyman, and custodian. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his children and grandchildren. He loved attending the temple and reading scriptures. He loved watching Westerns on TV. His family loved his sense of humor.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Clearfield 2nd Ward.
He served a mission to Northern California from 1947-1949. He and Mary served two missions to Raleigh, NC and Fresno, CA mission. He also served as Sunday school president, Assistant ward clerk, and served as 1st counselor in the branch presidency. He also served in the Ogden Temple and many other callings throughout his life. He did his home teaching the day before he died.
He is survived by his wife Mary, Clearfield; children; Devan (Elaine) Tolman, Malta, ID; Dallas (Janette) Tolman, Salem, ID; Nancy (Kim) Call, Syracuse, UT; Ella (Aaron) Miller, Pocatello, ID; Del (Kristie) Tolman, Provo, UT: Dean (Donna) Tolman, South Weber, UT; Darwin (Wanda) Tolman, West Valley City, UT; Mary (Daren) Coleman, Clearfield, UT; 35 grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are brothers, Russell Tolman, St. George, UT; Jaren (Norma) Tolman, Mesa, AZ; Jack (Elaine) Tolman, Burley, ID; two brother-in-laws and two sister-in-laws, and many nieces and nephews.
He was proceeded in death by his parents, five sisters, two brothers and one granddaughter Alyson Miller.
