Hiram Bostwick Chapman 1817–1889
Austin Bostwick Chapman 1821–1901
David Chapman 1823–1875
Mary Ann (Chapman) Peters Potter Gilmore Burnap 1824–1911
Rosella M (Chapman) Potter 1830–1849
In the 1830s the family moved to Michigan, eventually settling in Monroe County. In 1839, her husband Joseph drowned in the Detroit River near Gibraltar. In 1848 her daughter Mary Ann was widowed. The next year her younger daughter Rosella, beloved wife of Royal Potter, passed away, and Royal married Mary Ann. By 1860 Lury was living with Royal and Mary Ann Potter and their family in their country home on a homestead near Carleton. In 1862 Royal joined the Union Army and later died in the civil war, so Lury was probably a help to Mary Ann in the house and farm. Lury herself died in 1868 and was buried in the cemetery on the Potter homestead.
