Mrs. Edith E. Jones, resident of Amity and McMinnville for many years, died
Monday in a Salem hospital following a long illness. Services will be conducted
Thursday at 1:30 p.m. in the Clough-Barrick mortuary, Salem. Interment will be
in Amity cemetery.
Mrs. Jones was born August 24, 1869, in Wingham, Ontario, Canada. She came to
Oregon when she was 13 years old and was married on October 20, 1887 to Rolland
O. Jones. They lived for many years at Amity, where he died on March 21, 1911.
Mrs. Jones later lived in McMinnville and Corvallis before moving to Salem in
1946.
She was a member of Calvary Baptist church in Salem.
Surviving Mrs. Jones are three daughters, Mrs. LuVerne Hardwicke, Mrs. Mildred
E. Wyatt and Mrs. Arlene Brown, all of Salem; a sister, Mrs. Ella Burnett of
Salem; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Her only son, R. Ingraham Jones, died in 1946 in Fort Worth, Texas. Her
daughter-in-law, Mrs. R. Ingraham Jones, lives in Fort Worth.
