Robert Royce Heron, age 72, of Prescott Valley and Flagstaff, died Feb. 17, 2005, at the Olivia White Hospice Home in Flagstaff. He was born Sept. 8, 1932, in Worland, Wyo., to Arthur David Dickie and Berenice Arvilla (Brunk) Heron.

Robert 'Bob' attended schools in Worland. While growing up he was involved in baseball, playing for the Worland Indians semi-professional baseball team. Robert is a lifetime member of the American Legion Post #44.

During his junior year of high school, his National Guard unit was called to active duty in Korea. After his discharge as Sergeant First Class, Robert attended University of Wyoming. He became involved with the auto parts business, and eventually became the Operations Manager for American Parts, Inc., based in Atlanta, Ga.

He married Pat Haney in 1971. They were married 34 years.

Robert was a devoted Dodger fan, a passion he shared with his brother, Jimmie. He also loved the Denver Broncos.

Robert was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Dola Buffington, and one brother, Jimmie Heron. He is survived by his daughters, Cindy, Michelle, Judy and Christine; his wife, Pat; one sister, Dorene Atkinson; and brothers, Dick and Edwin Heron; 15 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren; and beloved nieces and nephews.

Services will be held today, Feb. 23, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 224 South Kendrick, in Flagstaff, Ariz.

Burial will follow at Citizens Veterans Cemetery, with the American Legion providing graveside Military Honors.

The casket will be open at the church from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a Rosary from 9:30 to 10 a.m., followed by the Mass.

Memorials may be made to the Olivia White Hospice Home at 452 North Switzer Canyon Drive in Flagstaff.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Norvel Owens Mortuary.
