Olympian, Middleweight Boxer. "Jimmy Clark" was a middleweight boxer who gained national recognition during the 1936 Olympics in Berlin, Germany. He lost to Polish boxer Henryk Chmielewski on points in a controversial decision during the quarterfinals. United States officials and the media cried foul about the loss by Jimmy Clark, a black fighter, that took place in Nazi Germany while Adolph Hilter was expounding his Aryan Supremacy ideas. After the Olympics, Jimmy Clark, who was also known as the "Jimtown Express," became a professional middleweight boxer. He served during World War II in the United States Army.
