Major John Pearson Bond was a son of Thomas Bond and Mary Ann Pearson. He married first Abigail Sarah Fairchild by whom he had at least seven children: Martha Sarah, Hepzibah Eleanor, Manchester, John Pearson, Jr., Matilda H., Felix Paddon, and Lucinda.
John married second Clarissa Williams by whom he had two more sons, Moses Grant and Theodore Stanmore.
In October 1806, John Pearson was elected to serve in the South Carolina Legislature as a Representative of Lexington District.
John died intestate in 1823.
