Charles was the son of Samuel M. and Armelia Bloom Cecil and husband of Indiana Buchanan Cecil.
•Obituary-Charles W. Cecil, 73, 311 Hutchinson Avenue, retired carpenter and contractor, died early yesterday morning at Ball Hospital. He had been in failing health for several years and seriously ill since December.
Mr. Cecil was born in Muncie on April 20, 1868, a son of Samuel and Amelia Bloom [sic] Cecil, pioneer Delaware County residents. His grandfather was Stewart Cecil, an early settler of the county. Mr. Cecil was a member of the Friends Memorial Church, the Macabee Lodge and the Carpenters' Union. He had been a member of the Macabees for fifty years.
Surviving are one son, C.B. Cecil, Washington, D.C.; three daughters, Mrs. Armydis E. Sturdivant, Mrs. Irvin Morrow and Mrs. Wilbert Martin, all of Muncie; a brother, L.M. Cecil, of this city; a sister, Mrs. Alice Minnick, of Mansfield, O.; and eight grandchildren, William B. Cecil, student at Northwester University; Margaret, Rachel, Nancy and David Martin, all of Muncie; Rosemary Morrow, student at Earlham College and Dorothy and Robert Morrow, of this city.
Funeral services will be conducted at the Meeks Mortuary at 2 o'clock Saturday afternoon, the Rev. William J. Sayers, pastor of Friends Memorial Church in charge. Burial will be in the Elm Ridge Cemetery.
