Alton F. Begent
Dies At 84
Funeral services for Alton F.
Begent, 84, of Oran-Delphi Rd.,
Manlius, who died at his home
January 27, were held January
29 at the Walsh and Ayer
Funeral Home, Cazenovia. Burial
was in Evergreen Cemetery.
Mr. Begent died of exposure
after he walked out of his home
some time Wednesday night
and collapsed. He was found by
members of his family Thursday
morning.
A resident of Manlius 29
years, Mr. Begent was a native
of Groton. A dairy farmer until
his retirement in 1961, he was a
50-year member of the Groton
Lodge 496, F and AM.
Surviving are a daughter,
Mrs. Virginia Foley of Manlius;
two brothers, Frank of South
Lansing and Sherwood Begent
of Erie, Pa.; a sister, Mrs. Anna
Reniff of Ithaca; six grandchildren,
and several nieces and
nephews.
