Cecil L. Uto, 82, of Port Charlotte, Fl. passed away Sunday ,June 20, 2004. He was born June 8, 1922, in Fairfax, Ok. Cecil served in the U.S. Navy during World war II He served in the Pacific and in Indonesia where he was shot down and was lost in the jungle for two months, before being discovered. He earned two Air Medals and was a recipient of numerous ribbons. His fleet earned a total of 36 stars.
Cecil was the owner and operator of the Fish-N- Steer restaurant in Charlotte Harbor Fl. for many years. He was also a member of the veterans of foreign wars and the American Legion in Port Charlotte.
Cecil was an accomplished singer and had a recording studio in Kansas City, Mo. before moving to Port Charlotte in 1965. Cecil was currently working for the Sun as a storefront sales contractor.
He is survised by his brother Bill Uto of Sand Springs,Ok. Nephew Ronald(Linda)Millburn of Sand Springs,Ok.and nephew J. C. (Shirley)Millburn of Littleton,Co. and long-time friends of 38 years Paul & Lucille Brooks of Port Charlotte
