Henry states that he was born at Dissen, Germany and emigrated to the U.S. on or about 25 May 1889 sailing aboard the Elbe from Bremen. He became a citizen on the 26th day of March in 1896.
His obit found in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch (2 March 1914) reads as follows:
Kicker - Entered into rest at 6:15 this a.m. after lingering illness at his home, Henry Kicker, dear, beloved husband of Margaret Kicker (nee Groh), father of Margaret Kicker and our dear brother-in-law and uncle.
Funeral from late family residence, 4117A Flad Avenue, March 4, at 2 p.m., thence to Calvary Cemetery. Friends invited to attend. Deceased was a member of Order of Columbian Knights, Phoenix Lodge. No 111, Odd Fellows. New Madrid (Mo) papers please copy.
