She was born at Orleans, Nebraska, April 17, 1886. She joined the Seventh-day Baptist church at Nortonville in 1897, by baptism, her father, the Rev. Herbert E. Babcock, administering the ordinance. Although so young, she had developed, in a marked degree, the graces that come to a life of close walk with God. The city school was suspended and the professors and pupils were present at the funeral in a body, also the Junior Christian Endeavor Society of which she was a highly esteemed member. "They shall be mine, saith the Lord of hosts, in that day when I make up my jewels." Mal. 3: 17.
