Anna Gertrude (listed as Gertraut on a baptism document) was born to parents Jacob I. Eacker and Gertrude Herkimer.

Gertrude Herkimer was the daughter of Capt. George Herkimer (sometimes referred to as Colonel), and the niece of General Nicholas Herkimer , served in the war.

Her paternal uncle, George I. Eacker, who shot Alexander Hamilton's son, Philip, in a duel. George is buried at St. Paul's Churchyard in Manhattan.

She also is descended from the Finck family , which included several Revolutionary War veterans. Her great-grandfather was Andreas Finck who was believed to have served in the Revolutionary War and several of his sons and sons-in-law served, including his son, Major Andrew Finck Junior.

Anna Gertrude Eacker married Lester Wilcox in 1833 in Montgomery County, NY. They had four children: Herkimer E. (born abt 1826), William Henry Harrison (born Feb 24,1839 in Canajoharie), Albert E.(born April 18, 1843) and Anna Gertrude (nicknamed Annie, born abt 1846).

In 1850, the family lived in Canajoharie in Montgomery County, NY. They were living in Brooklyn, NY by 1860.

Anna died July 10, 1871 of cancer.
