Harland Bailey passed away at his home in the north part of Holton yesterday afternoon. Funeral arrangements have not been completed.

Harland Melvin Bailey, second son of Mr. and Mrs. H. M. Bailey, deceased, was born January 4, 1880, on a farm two miles west of Netawaka, Kans., and departed this life Wednesday, November 5, 1941.
In early childhood the family moved to a farm seven miles west of Holton, Kans., where he grew to young manhood.
On June 28, 1900, he was united in marriage to Maude Melinda Baxter of Circleville, Kans. To this union were born two children, Mrs. Chester Hamm and Mrs. Paul Martin, both of this city.
He made his home in this community with the exception of a few years.
He united with the Methodist church at Elk Falls, Kans., in the year of 1903.
He leaves to mourn his passing his wife and two daughters; three brothers; Elmer Bailey of Holton, Kans., Herman of Havensville, Kans., and Roy of Foraker, Okla.; two sisters, Mrs. Charlie Minner of Soldier, Kans., and Mrs. James Smith of Tulara, Calif.; ten grandchildren, and a host of friends.
Funeral services were held from the Gabel & McAsey Funeral Home Friday afternoon at 1 o'clock, Rev. Owen W. Prince in charge. Burial in the Holton cemetery
