Leo J. Duffy
Leo J. Duffy, 66, of 325 Mary St., died Oct. 31, 1958, at his home after a three-year illness. He was born in New Hartford, son of John and Anna Ryan Duffy. At an early age he moved to Utica, where he received his education and lived here since. Mr. Duffy, an employe of the New York Central Railroad for 42 years until his retirement in 1955, had worked his way up from switchman to yard conductor.

He was a prominent athlete, having played baseball with the old Rusty's and New York Central teams in his younger days. He was a communicant of St. John's Church, and a member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen.

He leaves a son, Edward L. of Utica; a daughter, Mrs. William English of Syracuse; two sisters, Miss Anna Duffy and Mrs. Patrick Kenefick, both of Utica; six grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. The funeral will be Tuesday from the Doyle Funeral Home, 13 Hoppr St., at a time to be announced. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Calling hours are from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 tomorrow and Monday at the funeral home.
