On April 24, 1954, he married Marceil M. Muhlenkamp, who survives.

He worked at the former Avco New Idea in Coldwater. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. He was a past commander and member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 6515, the American Legion Post 345, and the Fort Recovery Gun Club, all of Fort Recovery. He was also a member of the Catholic Order of Foresters, and the Mary Help of Christians Catholic Church in Fort Recovery.
Funeral Mass is 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at the church, the Rev. Thomas Dorn officiating.
Burial with military graveside honors by the Fort Recovery American Legion Post 345 is at St. Mary's Cemetery in Fort Recovery.
