Dorothy Ann Beerman, age 87, of Albion, passed away Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Spectrum Health United Memorial in Lakeview, Michigan. She was born September 4, 1921 in Sheridan Township, Michigan to Henry and Eva (Granger) Arnold.
She was a college graduate and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree. On January 2, 1943 she married George Beerman who preceded her in death in 1989. Dorothy was self-employed and was the co-owner along with her husband of A & W Restaurant in Homer. She and her husband also sold Real Estate. Dorothy taught school for a short time in Albion.
She was a member of First Baptist Church of Albion. She was also a member of the Lady's Prayer Group for several years that of which she had started. She enjoyed playing piano and organ.
Her survivors include: (4) daughters, Carol Ann & Ralph Woodard of Edmore, MI, Cynthia & Sam Veatch of Blanchard, OK, Deborah & Steve Spriggs, of Homer and Sandra & John Lake of Albion,(1) sons, George A. & Drusilla Beerman of Ocean Isle Beach, (11) grandchildren, (9) great-grandchildren and (2)great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, (2) brothers Kenneth and Rex Arnold, and grandchildren Kevin Lake and Janet Beerman.
Funeral Service was held at 1:30 P.M., Thursday, April 30, at First Baptist Church, 980 Haven Road, Albion, with Pastor Thomas Hollowood and Reverend Wilbur Wagenshutz officiating. Interment: Fairview Cemetery in Homer. Visitation was from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM, Wednesday, April 29, at J. Kevin Tidd Funeral Home, 811 Finley Drive in Albion. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church Missionary Society.
