Paternal lineage: Florence⁴ Luella CHILDS (Guy³ Truman, Joseph² L., Isaac¹ Childs) originally the family came from England, settled in Massachusetts, then Ohio, then Indiana, then Iowa and then South Dakota.

Maternal lineage: Florence⁴ Luella CHILDS, ( May³ Barbara Steiber, Caroline² Reierson Houge, Julia (Guri)¹ Reierson) from Opdahl, Norway

Florence Luella Childs Browne (74) was the youngest of five children (Esther, Delbert, Evelyn, Wilber, Florence) born to Guy Truman Childs and Barbara May Steiber. Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Lidge Childs and Blanche Clementina "Tina" Peckenpaugh. Her maternal grandparents were Reinhard Philip Steiber and Caroline R. Houge. Both sets of grandparents lived near each other in Miner County, South Dakota.

Florence grew up in iron ore mining towns near Crosby, MN. She graduated from Grand Rapids High School, MN.

On Jan. 11, 1947 in Chicago IL, Florence married David Edwin BROWNE b. Nov. 18, 1921- Dec. 29, 1988 son of Alfred Henry Browne and Freda Martha at her sister Evelyn Childs Long's residence.

Florence was an LPN nurse and went to school in Minneapolis, MN and she worked at Lutheran Medical Center, Cleveland, OH. She and her husband, David raised their family in Cleveland, OH. In May of 1977 they moved Phoenix, AZ where they retired. Florence continued to do part-time private LPN work. Florence loved to travel and took many trips to places around the United States. The family loved to camp during their children's younger years.

Florence was interested in family history and took the family to visit relatives on the Childs side in Arizona, and Wyoming.
After retirement, Florence was active in her Creighton Methodist Church in Phoenix. She also volunteered at a Crisis Nursery for babies of mother's who were addicted.

Florence died of a heart attack. She is preceded in death by her parents, Guy and Barbara (Steiber) Childs; her husband, David; her sister Evelyn Louise Long; her brother Wilbur Childs; and her grandson Timothy Norlin (14 yrs) who died in 1990 as a result of severe burns in his parent's house fire.

Florence and David are survived by their three daughters: Patricia May Browne, Marilyn Sue Browne Poyet, Nancy Lou Browne; one sister Esther May Childs Rowe of Richland, MO and one brother, Delbert Childs of Grand Rapids, MN.

Jan. 28, 1976 Cleveland, OH Laura became a foster child. Marilyn's second child was Elizabeth Browne aka Rachael Amanda(Duce) Evans Ph.D Pharmacy b. Dec. 30, 1978 Phoenix, AZ m. Darin Evans .

3. Nancy Lou Browne of Parma, OH b. Dec. 27, 1952 d. 2018 Parma, OH. 1 child: Lisa Helen Sparks 1974-2012.
