Converted to LDS in 1857 and left for America in 1860 on Saints' ship 'The Underwriter' and met future bride, Hannah Walker. Crossed plains in the Capt James D. Ross Company. Arrived in SLC 3 Sep 1860. Was in the dry goods business. Associated with Walker Bros. Dept Stores and other dry goods stores.
