Funeral services for Alta Mable Fulton, 87, of Swink were held Wednesday afternoon at the Powell Almont Chapel.
Mrs. Fulton died Sunday at the La Junta Medical Center. She was born May 13, 1885 at Olean, New York to William Robert and Ida Sarah Clark Watkins. She married Francis Marion Fulton, Dec. 20, 1904 at Jetmore, Kansas. They came to Bent County in 1914 and settled six miles north of Rixey School. Mr. Fulton died Feb. 28,1970.
She is survived by three sons, Frances William Fulton, Hasty; Martin David Fulton, Lakin, Kansas; Richard Melvin Fulton, Las Animas; two daughters, Mrs. Alto May Kline, Swink, and Mrs. Viola Catherine Garrett, Casper, Wyoming; five sisters, Mrs. Fred Williams, and Georgie Christopherson, California; Mrs. Edith Dennis, Oklahoma and Mrs. Ida Hood and Alice Zipperle, Texas; 26 grandchildren 38 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren.
The Rev. Harold Bostwick officiated at the funeral services, Mrs. Virginia Stoker soloist, sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset" Mrs. Charlotte Bryant was the organist.
Casket bearers were Jim Fulton, Francis Fulton, Philip Fulton, Ronnie Fulton, Marion Fulton and Frank Fulton. Honorary bearers were Roye Tull, Bob Jessup, Maurice Kenworthy, Don Taylor, Pete Roberts and Ott Ferrell.
Burial was in the Las Animas Cemetery with Powell Almont Mortuary in charge of arrangements.
