Daughter of Ann Green (1791-1859) and Vine Allen (1779-1829), who were married February 15, 1815.

Obituaries:

-----------

DIED,
Departed this life, on Tuesday morning, 25th inst., after a lingering illness of nearly three years, HARRIET ANN ALLEN, daughter of the late General Vine Allen, in the 14th year of her age. The tenderness of conscience, and susceptibility of truth uniformly exhibited by this amiable young female; her patience under sufferings, and cordial acquiescence in the will of God, for many months gave pleasing evidences that she was a subject of Divine grace. Her bereaved mother and family indulge the comforting hope that she fell asleep in Jesus, and that now “it is well” with her.
“Hope looks beyond the bounds of time
When what we now deplore
Shall flourish in immortal prime
And bloom to fade no more."
