ABERDEEN - Nettie Mae Alexander, 93, formerly of Houston, died Friday, Oct. 28, 2005, at the North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo. She was born Sept. 11, 1912, in Van Vleet to the late S. Pete Homan and Jennie Arndt Homan. She was a retail merchant and advertising manager for the Times Post newspaper. She was a member of the First Methodist Church of Houston. She served on the Board of Aldermen for two terms and a Mayor Pro-Tem for the City of Houston. She was a member of the Culture Club, City Beautiful Committee, Three Rivers Board of Directors and bridges clubs. She was flea market chairman for 10 years.

Services will be at 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Memorial Funeral Home Chapel in Houston with Bro. David Harrell officiating. Burial will be in the Houston Cemetery.

Survivors include a son, Donald L. Bunch and wife, Lou, of Aberdeen; two grandsons, Mike Bunch and wife, Angie, and Kevin Bunch, all of Aberdeen; five great-grandchildren, Daniel, Lee, Tommy, Tori and Taylor Bunch; a brother, Jesse Homan of Muscle Shoals, Ala.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a brother, Albert Homan; and two sisters, Eleanor Herndon and Lorene Homan.

Pallbearers will be Mike Bunch, Kevin Bunch, Dennis Homan, Ed Homan, Jerry Homan, Daniel Bunch, Lee Bunch and Tommy Bunch.

Donations may be made to the Wesley Fellowship Class at the First Methodist Church of Houston.
