Randal "Randy" Allen Baker, 52, was called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, (June 19, 2013) at his home fol­lowing an extended illness.

He was born in Fairmont on Oct. 26, 1960, a son of Margaret Ann (Eddy) Baker of Fairmont and the late William A. Baker.

Randy was a house framer and cut man by trade. He worked for the Merrifield Brothers, Schnopps Construction and in his later years was a maintenance man for community homes. He loved being outdoors hunting and fish­ing with friends and he also like to dig ginseng. He was a Methodist by faith. He was an avid fan of the Dallas Cowboys and the WVU Mountaineer foot­ball team.

In addition to his mother, he is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Deanna (Jackson) Baker of Fairmont; a daughter, Angel Baker and her fiancé Phil Dillmore of Seminole, Fla.; a son, Scott Baker of Fairmont; and his grandchildren, whom he loved more than life itself, Jacob and Baylee Dillmore of Florida and Carter Hamrick of West Virginia.

Also surviving is a brother, Richard Baker of Fairmont; half-siblings, Fritz Baker and his wife Donna, Christina Call and her husband James, Billy Baker and his companion Tabitha and Joycelyn Hontz and her com­panion Dave, all of Pennsylvania; a special brother­in- law, Ken Jackson and his wife Robin of Oregon; aunts and uncles, Richard and Valerie Eddy, Donna and Red Feather, Beverly and Butch Ferrell, Carolyn Johns, Ben Baker and his companion Donna as well as a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Anna Mae and Carroll Eddy; his pater­nal grandparents, Kendall and Annelea Baker; an uncle, Michael Eddy; his father-in-law, Bernard Jackson; and a brother­in- law, David Hontz.

Family and friends may call at Carpenter and Ford Funeral Home, 209 Merchant St., Fairmont, from 5-9 p.m. today and from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.The funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 2 p.m. on Saturday with Pastor Carl Radcliff officiating. Interment will follow at McCurdysville Cemetery in Monongalia County.

The family would like to thank Dr. Basu and Dr. Grey from the Mary Babb Randolph Cancer Center, Hospice Care nurses and staff and Pastor Carl Radcliff and the Fairmont Free Methodist Church family for all of their prayers, cards and sup­port of Randy during his illness.
