Wearing four battle stars and holder of a Presidential citation for heroic achievement, Lieutenant Richard E Archer, 27, of Bristol is home from the European war. After a furlough spent with his family, he is awaiting reassignment at For Dix. Associated with the 15th Air Force as a radar repair expert, he was on active duty 16 months in Italy. He is the husband of Mrs. Ruth Jeffries Archer and the son of Elmer Y Archer, Sr., of Trenton and the late Mrs. Jennie Thompson Archer. Two brothers Lieutenant Elmer Y Archer, Jr. and Radioman Second Class Robert L. Archer, are in service. Richard entered service in 1942 and was commissioned at New Haven in the fall of that year. He went overseas in January, last year. Prior to war service, he was employed in the rug mill at Freehold.
