We are called upon to announce two deaths in the vicinity of Curllsville this week from the dread destroyer consumption. Calvin Autner died at nine o'clock on Tuesday morning, aged about 49 years. The deceased leaves a wife and seven children. The funeral was held this (Thursday) afternoon at two o'clock. Interment in Curllsville cemetery. - Clarion Jacksonian 1/27/1898
Death notice, New Bethlehem Vindicator, November 5, 1897: Calvin Autner, of Curllsville, died on Jan 28th (1898), after a long illness of consumption. The rest of the small article is unreadable except that it looks like he may have been a photographer with rare artistic abilities. *Note: transcription appears to have errors in date of death. Source of print could also be in typographical error.

Calvin was a photographer in the Curllsville vicinity. Many old photos of local families are stamped with the "C Autner" markings.
