SPRING CITY -- Henry Luster Acord, 80, former Spring City councilman and school trustee, died at his home here Thursday morning of heart alliment.
Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3 p.m. in the Spring City LDS ward chapel. Burial will be in Spring City cemetery.
Mr. Acord was born in Atchison County, Mo., May 29, 1861, a son of Abram and Nancy Frost Acord. The family settled in Spring City in 1864.
Mr. Acord was counselor in the LDS ward bishoprie for 24 years.
In addition to serving as Spring City councilman and school trustee, he was a former city marshal and lender of the city hand. He was also director and secretary of the Spring City Cooperative store and president of the Spring City Roller mill. He married Annie Christena Larsen in 1881, she died in 1908, and two years later he married Mary Ellen Allred, who survives.
Also surviving are five sons and daughters, Mrs. Reid H. Allred and Lester Acord of Spring City, Mrs. T. W. Lee of Midvale, Frank Acord of Ogden and Clair Acord, Mono; a brother, J. A. Acord of Salt Lake City; 18 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
