Herman Clyde Acord was born January 12, 1931 at Peach Orchard, Ark., the son of Emery and Calista Acord, and departed this life at Madison, Wisconsin on Nov. 26, 1962 at the age of 31 years, 10 months and 14 days.
Mrs. Calesta Acord his mother, died when he was five weeks old and Herman was raised by Mr. and Mrs. George Gross.
He is survived by six brothers, Lloyd Acord of Pontiac, Mich., Floyd Acord of Auburn Heights, Mich., Edward Acord of Clarkton, Mich., Owen Acord of Millington, Mich., Elmer Acord of Otisville, Mich. His foster parents, Uncle George and Aunt Bessie Gross of Pollard, Ark.; and a host of other relatives and friends.
At the time of his death, Hermna ws employed at the Mid-west Emery Frieght Co. of St. Louis, Mo., and was making his home with Mr. and Mrs. David Goza of East St. Louis, Illinois.
Funeral services were held Sunday, December 2, 1962 at New Hope Methodist Church at Pollard, Ark., at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. Edgar Griffin. Burial was made in New Hope Cemetery at Pollard, Ark., Russell Mortuary of Piggott in charge of arrangments.
