Emil Carl Acord Passed away on March 12,2001. He was 75 he was the son of William R. and Maggie McNeese Acord. He was the brother of Mona Jumps who had done alot of research on the Acord Family.

Emil Carl Acord, 75, of Elkhart, Ind., died at 2:40 p.m. Monday (March 12, 2001) at Elkhart General Hospital.
He was born July 9, 1925, in Westville, Ill., the son of William R. and Maggie Z. McNeese Acord. He married Bernice W. Bingaman on Aug. 29, 1953, in Elkhart. She preceded him in death on March 11, 1996. Survivors include: five daughters, Jean (David) Hunt of Goshen, Ind., Connie (Peter) Sura of Elkhart, Jeri (Donald) Alabaugh of Bristol, Ind., Pam (Brad) McIntire of Elkhart, and Carla (Clyde) Riley of Elkhart; four sons, Steve (Joann) Acord of Elkhart, Randy Acord of Middlebury, Ind., Jim Acord of Elkhart, and Dennis (Connie) Garman of Valpariso, Ind.; 19 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and a sister, Vera Louise Roe of Danville, Ill. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Mona Jumps and one brother, Edward Acord.
He retired from NIPSCO in 1983 after 27 years as a serviceman. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during World War II.
Funeral services: 10 a.m. EST Friday, March 16 at Hartzler-Gutermuth-Inman Funeral Home, 403 W. Franklin St. in Elkhart; Officiating: Rev. Donald Brenneman of Bristol United Methodist Church; Visitation: 2-4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. EST Thursday at the funeral home; Burial: Rice Cemetery in Elkhart, with military graveside services by the Elkhart Chapter 19 DAV; Memorials: American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
