Charles was the son of William Leon and Minnie Boeck Alexander. Charles was a car man for Missouri Pacific Railroad. He served in Korea with the U. S. armed forces. He shares a stone with his wife, Dorothy B. Lucas Lay Alexander, who he married 28 November 1969 in Anderson Co, TX. He was residing in Palestine at the time of his death there. He was survived by four daughters, Theresa Gail Lay Higginbotham of Dallas, Connie Darlene Lay Talley, Dorothy Annette Lay Tokarczyk and Tina Fox, all of Palestine; one son, David Michael May of Panama City, FL; two brothers, J. P. Alexander of New Braunfels and Johnny Alexander of Pensacola, FL; 12 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. His obituary was published in the Palestine Herald-Press, Saturday, 10 November 2001.
