Oscar Fides McAnally was the son of Martha Jane Stewart McAnally and William McAnally Jr. It is said he was born in TN. and a bible record says his birth year was 1854. After his parents divorced when Oscar was an infant, his mother later remarried to a William McFarland in Milam Co Tx. Oscar was the grandson of Rosannah Simonton Stewart and Rev. William Falls Stewart. His great grandparents were Dr. James Finley Stewart and Martha Falls Stewart.His McAnally kin lived in TN. He had three half brothers who were Bev, William James and Dan McFarland. He had two half sisters, Maggie, who died young, and Rosa Nell McFarland.He married Ida Joyce and they had a daughter, Lelia McAnally Batte who wrote the History of Milam Co.Tx. Oscar was the newspaper editor of the Cameron Herald News for several years up to his death, in 1905. He and Ida Joyce had several children.
